Situated in the centre of Saanichton, Montessori Educare 2 is a fully licensed preschool-child care facility offering a stimulating and nurturing environment for children aged 30 months to 5 years.
The school is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The morning program follows a Montessori curriculum centred on Practical Life, Sensorial Activities, Language and Math, as well as Cultural Activities which include arts and crafts, music, history, geography, science, etc. and which serve to enrich the child's view of the world. These activities are presented in an integrated and flexible way.
The development of social skills is an important part of the program and children learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment. They also have ample opportunity to enjoy exercise and free activity in our spacious and safe garden playground.
After the morning program, the children enjoy a quiet, well ordered lunch time, and then move on to the afternoon program which offers opportunity for a imaginative and dramatic play including block play, construction materials, table-top activities such as games, puzzles, manipulative materials and arts and crafts, as well as circle time, stories and plenty of outside play. The afternoon nap takes place in a quiet and supervised area.
The two qualified Montessori teachers follow the interests and needs of each child, introducing activities and materials accordingly, and encouraging independence and joy of learning in a non-competitive, nurturing environment.
